Melbourne: Shaun Tait, who went into a self-imposed exile last year complaining of fatigue, is roaring back to form and is expected to earn a seven-figure bonanza in the second edition of the Indian Premier League.

Tait may have gone for 36 runs in his four overs during Australia's win over South Africa in the Twenty20 international, but showed enough glimpse of getting back to his best after consistently clocking in the mid-150 km/h zone, on Sunday.

Tait confirmed on Sunday night that he would be putting himself up for the IPL auction on February 5 since the form of cricket suits him best.

"It is exciting because it would be the start of a new career in one way and the Twenty20 game is one I have always enjoyed," Tait said.

Tait, along with England duo Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff, is set to be among the most sought-after signatures at the auction, and the Australian speedster is expected to fetch USD 600,000 a year for a multi-year deal.

"It (the IPL) has opened up new avenues for my career. Obviously our first thoughts are with Australian cricket but it would also be great to be part of a franchise over there," he was quoted as saying in the 'Courier Mail'.

And former Australia player Darren Lehmann have already conceded that there would be considerable interest in the pacer.

Lehmann, who is the coach of IPL team Deccan Chargers, said they would be bidding for Tait but added there would be rival interests as well. "I think a few teams will as well - if that's the case it could force his price up quite a bit," Lehmann said.
