Melbourne: Troubled all-rounder Andrew Symonds was fined 4000 Australian dollar for his radio rant against New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman Brendon McCullum.

A Cricket Australia Code of Conduct Commission hearing has upheld a charge against Symonds after he pleaded guilty for calling McCullum a "lump of shit" during an FM radio last week.

At the CA hearing in Melbourne on Thursday, Code of Conduct Senior Commissioner Gordon Lewis found the controversial all-rounder guilty of breaching CA Code of Behaviour Rule 9 relating to detrimental public comment and issued a fine of 4000 Australian dollars as penalty for the breach.

However, Symonds escaped a suspension after CA treated him as a first time offender of breach of Code of Behaviour. The Queenslander is expected to make a public statement later on Thursday.

First time offender??? What a joke Cricket Australia is? This guy has been amongst the worst behaved cricketer on Planet Earth and they call him a first time offender! Why bother handing out the fine when you do not mean to in the first place? Secondly, what did Symonds say when he heard the amount of fine... How do you want it. cash or cheque?
