Karachi: Former Test star Saeed Anwar has offered his services to help Pakistan cricket find a reliable and strong opening pair.

Saeed, who since his retirement from cricket in 2003 is actively involved in 'Tableeg' (preaching) and other religious activities, said he would like to contribute positively to Pakistan cricket.

"I think I can help the board find a good opening pair. If they need my services I am always available for them," he said.

Anwar, who played 55 Tests and 247 one-day internationals and is considered as one of the finest openers in world cricket, said he can spare time from his busy schedule of religious activities to contribute to Pakistan cricket.

"I still follow cricket passionately. It is in my blood. I think the key to finding and grooming a successful opener is that he should be paying lot of attention to his cricket rather then other things," Anwar, who holds the record for the highest individual one-day score of 194, said.
