Miandad has a problem, says Akram

New Delhi: As Javed Miandad today resigned from the post of Pakistan Cricket Board's Director General, former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram felt the problem lied with the ex-batsman as never appears satisfied with any role in the establishment.

“Whenever Javed bhai has been given some role, he has had some problems. He has been around in Pakistan cricket for a long while but I think there must be some problems with him,” Akram told espnstar.com.

The former pacer, however felt there must be some solid reason behind Miandad's resignation.

“Look, I do not know the reasons yet. I am sure there are reasons behind the resignation. We will all get to know in a couple of days what they are,” he said.

Akram was also concerned with the way the PCB was being run and felt it was now directionless.

“The PCB lacks directions now. Nobody has any clue as to what is happening and that is a cause for concern,” he said.

Pakistan suffered a humiliating ODI series loss at the hands of Sri Lanka last Saturday, which eventually triggered the sacking of Malik, something which upset Miandad.

However, a PCB official Asif Suhail played down the scenario around Miandad saying the Pakistani legend had only refused to accept the written contract.

“All the agreements that we had with him so far were verbal. When he was offered the appointment letter yesterday, Miandad refused the contract,” he said.
