India's ODI series bait delaying Lanka tour to Pak?

Karachi: Sri Lankan cricket authorities were delaying finalising the itinerary for the Pakistan tour because they first want to work out a window for a lucrative one-day series against India, sources said.

According to reliable sources, the Indian Board has offered to play six one-dayers against Sri Lanka sometime in February-March with a proposal to organise three matches each in both the countries.

"The Sri Lankans have made it clear that they are very keen to play against India as this guaranteed them maximum revenues. This could be one reason why they have asked Pakistan to reschedule their tour from January," one source said.

"Because of this reason they want the Pakistan tour delayed until late February and have also reduced the number of matches from three Tests and five one-day internationals to two Tests and three one-day games," the source said. "One thing is for sure, the Indian offer is far more important for them."

The Pakistan cricket Board officials have insisted that they don't think the Indian board is trying to derail their hastily arranged series against Sri Lanka but the sources said India was not making life easier for Pakistan.

"Both the series are unscheduled ones so it is a case of the Board with more muscle power having his way and in this case it appears to be India," one source said.

Pakistan are due to tour Bangladesh from March 3 to play five one-day internationals but Sri Lanka's insistence on changing their itinerary has left Pakistan with no option but to ask Bangladesh to delay the scheduled series.

Khan: when a legend like Miandad is linked to a terrorist like Dawood Ibrahaim, all bets are off! Get real.. how can India play cricket with a country whose ISI, Army, govt are turning a blind eye terror sponsors. Evidence.. you so innocently ask for evidence.. well here the evidence... screw you!! Ban the freaking matches and let the PCB be an example for paki people see whats the future holds if they dont vote out extremism. This is bound to happen. denial is not a solution. I wish for peace but no double dealing, and no one-up-manship.

Good Job India.....Pay SriLankan Board double the Fees but make them cancel the Terrorist Pakis tour altogether......Let Paki arrange a Super Series with Taliban XI and Mullah XI.......That will be interesting and I am dying to watch that live on TV.

Best thing for BCCI is to ensure that Srilanka never go to pakistan and also make every thing possible to make pakistan unfit for playing cricket .

BCCI should stop unholy alliance with Pak and politics, no more sub-continent politics
by Sarath on 2009-01-03 14:01:56.780877+05:30
India should stop SriLanka's tour to Pak completely by giving more tests and onedays intead of partial Sri lanka tour to Pak. Even partial tour of Srilanka will give moral support to Pak attrocities in India. India should bring Srilanka into BCCI friendly control along with Aussies, England, West indies and Suth africa and leave Bangla and Pak at bay and alienate completely. BCCI should stop all unholy alliance with previous sub-continent sentiment of alliancing with Pak, Srilanka and Bangladesh and fight with Aussies and England, this strategy proved waste and it wont work as long as Pak is proved rogue nation, so any ties with Pak is waste of time, money and nuesence. So stop previous unholy alliance and India should play only Srilanka in sub-continent and other nations in rest of world.
