Dubai: Afghanistan qualified for its second consecutive Twenty20 World Cup with a 47-run win over Namibia on Thursday inspired by the bowling of Dawlat Zadran and Aftab Alam.

Zadran's figures of 3-5 off 3.1 overs included the wickets of Namibia openers Raymond van Schoor and Gerrie Snyman for ducks in the first over. Van Schoor fell first ball. Namibia never recovered and was bowled out for 99, chasing Afghanistan's 146. Alam took 4-25.

Earlier, Ireland trounced Canada by 10 wickets while the Netherlands got past Scotland by 3 wickets. Ireland and Netherlands play Friday in Sharjah. The winner faces Namibia on Saturday for second spot in the World Cup which takes place in Sri Lanka later this year.
