Tendulkar denies sending SMS to Pawar

New Delhi, January 8:: Sachin Tendulkar has denied sending an SMS to BCCI chief Sharad Pawar requesting that the tour of Australia be suspended until the ICC lifts the ban on Harbhajan Singh.

"Sachin Tendulkar has not sent any SMS to Pawar on this issue. He had called up to clarify this point," BCCI vice President Rajiv Shukla said.

Media reports on Monday said that upset over the ban imposed on Harbhajan for allegedly racially abusing Australian all rounder Andrew Symonds, Tendulkar sent an SMS to Pawar assuring him that the off-spinner was innocent and suggesting that India should play the third Test only if the punishment is revoked.

"Harbhajan is innocent and I can assure you on this. In this hour of crisis, the Board should stand by him. I suggest we should play in Perth only if the ban is lifted," Tendulkar reportedly told Pawar through the text message.

Tendulkar was among the five Indians, who attended the ICC Match Referee Mike Procter's hearing into the allegation of racial abuse made by Symonds.

The problem with BCCI is that it is full of fat ugly greedy politicians. Some of the ex Indian players who have found favourable positions in ICC/ BCCI money guzzling fat guys are out defending the so called neutral umpires (read Gavaskar's comments from a few days ago). I can not see BCCI fatsos (Pawar and the rest of the Congressmen gang) who have made a career out of sychophancy and selling their dignity to corruption money and power doing much in this case. They will delay and make meaningless gestures (like stay on in Sydney for the time being) and then it will be back to the same usual stuff. Harbhajan is perceived as belonging to Ganguly's camp, so it is no wonder Pawar led BCCI wants a suspension, not a revoking of the ban. When all these things are over, I am pretty sure that the players who have defied BCCI designs and seem to be a threat to control of money purses by Pawar and his gang of politicans will pay in a month or two months time. Unless the Indian public disowns and severely punishes these shameless creatures, they can not be forced to act. The only person who can make them act is Sonia Gandhi, and obviosly she would not be particularly favourable to a brave Sikh who dares to take a brave stand in face of insults by Symmonds, Ponting and Bucknor. It is worth noting that these guys, including Symmonds, are devout Christians. The issue is not only about race, but also about religion. The mistake that Harbhajan has made is that he wears a turban, and any Sikh out there in the Western world knows very well what the rednecks think of turbaned people with brown skin.

You are right and I am sure the BCCI will try to come to some compramise and in the name of cricket game everybody will forget the dignity of the country.If the BCCI really thinks that the injustice has been done to harbhajan then they should not allow the team to play in Australia until the Ban is revoked and the respective people should apologise.
