Sachin is India's best role model: Survey

Mumbai: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has been voted as India's role model of health and happiness in a countrywide survey initiated by a magazine.

According to the survey done by global research firm Synovate for 'Complete Wellbeing' magazine for its December issue, out of 320 nominations, Tendulkar emerged as the best, a media release said.

Alongside Tendulkar, Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan and former President A P J Abdul Kalam emerged in the top three bracket.

Tendulkar, who only on Monday guided India to a sensational Test victory in Chennai against England, expressed pleasant surprise at being crowned as the top role model of health and happiness.

"Is it true? My countrymen think I am the healthiest and happiest person in the country? What a compliment! I am truly overwhelmed. I will cherish this compliment forever," Tendulkar was said to have reacted to the survey results, the release added.

sachin is undoubedly india's biggest role model.all young cricketers of today be it dhoni/yuvraj/sehwag etc... have all grown up watching sachin.there is no other indian from whom we expect so much.he is and will always be our beloved "SACHIN THE GOD OF CRICKET".

How pathetic.. another article in IE compare Mother theresa who a great soul and personality with this guywho floats in riches and has absolute disregard to the country. He earns 200 cr here for playing a stupid game and 21% of india is in HUNGER. This guy has not shelled out a penny for a social cause willingly and evaded taxes.. absolutely ridiculous article

Who are you to judge which is a smart game and which one is stupid game? Your viewpoint is a totally ugly and nonsense. 1st you should try to gather knowledge about who you are going to talk and then talk.Sachin is a role model here in India whether you agreed it or not it wont effects anything .

I am not surprised by this choice of Tendulkar.....I am 56 year old and still feel Sachin as my personal Role Model.However I am surprised by the choice of Amitabh.I dont approve of few things which Amtabh has done in his life.....
