No Bucknor for us please: Indians to ICC

Agencies

Posted online: Sunday , January 06, 2008 at 1502 hrs IST

Sydney, January 6:: Furious with the series of umpiring errors in the second cricket Test against Australia, the Indian team management requested the ICC not to depute the two umpires -- Steve Bucknor and Mark Benson -- for any of their future matches.

Team manager Chetan Chauhan said that the request would be sent to the ICC and it was for the game's governing body to take a decision on the matter.

"We have received a direction from the BCCI to lodge an official protest against the umpiring in the Sydney Test. We will do so," Chauhan said.

"We will also request the ICC not to assign the two umpires, particularly Steve Bucknor for any of our future matches," he added.

India lost the riveting second cricket Test by 122 runs but the match witnessed a large number of dubious decisions most of which went against the visitors.

The team management had initially decided not to lodge a formal complain after the opening day but has now had change of mind following the horrendous decisions on the final day.

Wrong decisions by umpire during Sydney Test
by Rajesh Singh on 2008-01-07 15:15:19.609882+05:30
This is a preplan to demoralise Indian team. We should strongly protest such type of plan and counter it properly by India team players and team management.

WORLD CHAMPIONS IN RACISM, BULLYING AND IN CHEATING
by Indi on 2008-01-07 11:10:17.403228+05:30
When ponting, symonds, hayden, hussey, all are given more life to bat, obviously they will score centuries. Harbhajan singh can scrore century if given 4 lives as did for symonds. Well when daryl harper gave shoulder before the wicket for tendulkar, India did not complained. This is a broad day light robbery by australians, ably supported by anti Indian bucknor, benson and ofcourse icc. Would you have tolerated if 8 decisions had gone in favour of India. Australia might win another 100 matches continously, but they are the cheaters to the core. Australians are not world champions in cricket, they are WORLD CHAMPIONS IN RACISM, BULLYING AND IN CHEATING. Soon australians will bite the dust for there racism and arrogance. Even a Hi to symonds sounds like racism for him. He is a saddist and sick mentally. Hope upcoming cricketers around the world wont have a cheating, racist, saddist australian so called cricket player as there role model.

I laughed at this
by Johnno on 2008-01-07 10:18:47.028686+05:30
I laughed at your comments when I read them...From an Australian supporter who was interested in how the media in India would deal with this I am a little taken aback by the attitude. Sure.. bad decisions were made and at in the last hour I weas hoping India would hold on for a draw as they did deserve it. But in the end it was snatched away by an inspired piece of captaining and bowling. Now to be upset about it is one thing but some of the stuff I have read makes me cringe! Come on India! You will have to move on.. after the Ashes were lost in 2005 through a massively bad umpiring incident we didn't sit back and complain about it, we moved on and won the next 16 in a row, we didn't talk about never playing England again and how the whole world hates us.. Now it is up to you guys to come back hard at us in Perth... teach us a cricketing lesson and not to complain so much you'll think we will forget about the middle order collapses and toothless bowling.. I will be in Perth and we will see..

Inida's 11 against Australia's 13
by Anand on 2008-01-07 12:42:51.500896+05:30
Indians should learn to practice more and more to taken on even the horrible umpiring decisions. Steve Fucknor gave bad decisions even in the earlier tour of India to Australia. Cricket lovers the game is going to dogs. Even the third umpire is hopeless too he could not see Andrew Symonds feet off the ground when his bails were knocked off. What shame and disgusting turn the second test took. If I was playing australia and won this game my head would hung in shame for the rest of my life.

Mean Sprited Australians
by Mishka on 2008-01-07 03:38:59.910638+05:30
You have all seen the match so there is no point in repeating what happened. The Australian team behaved like bunch of bullies, the empires behaved like thugs. So I don't see there is any point in playing with Australia any more. India should totally boyot any games with Australia except the world cup. There are other teams that we can play with what is the point in playing against the convicts.

Australians will soon learn the lesson to fight hard to stay in the TOP 10 cricket teams.
by Sathish on 2008-01-07 08:21:23.200227+05:30
yes very true...the australians are a bunch of cowards, especially Mr Ponting....we have to find new words to describe this guy and his attitude. Just because he is white skin does not mean he is the ruler of the world of cricket. Soon the australians will be thought a lesson by the Indian, Srilankan, and Pakistan teams.

Langoor Australians
by Indi on 2008-01-07 10:57:16.474893+05:30
There is no point in playing cricket with langoor australians when the series out come is already decided boardroom. Australian cricketers, umpires and icc have already decided that australia should win the series by cheating. India should pull out of the tour and snap ties with australian cricket. BCCI should ban australian players from playing in Indian premier leauge. Kick the old asses of langoor australians when the tour India and give them a tough time. Australian cricketers are now the number one enemey of Indian cricket fans. They should have a worst experience of there lives when they visit India.
