New Delhi, February 15: : Indian cricket team's trainer Gregory Allen King has decided to quit after the ongoing tri-series in Australia, leaving another support staff position vacant in the last two days following physio John Gloster's resignation.

BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah on Friday said King, who was contracted with the BCCI till December, 2007, had decided against seeking an extension.

"He has expressed his desire not to continue (as the Indian team's trainer) after this tour (of Australia), citing personal reasons," Shah said.

King's decision to quit the post comes a day after physio Gloster announced that he would not continue in the post citing personal reasons. Gloster is due to get married later this year.

The 34-year-old trainer from East London, South Africa, took up the reins from compatriot Adrian Le Roux in August, 2003. He had a non-controversial stint with the Indian team but recently it was suggested that his observations were partly responsible for the omission of Sourav Ganguly in the ODI squad.

King is a post-graduate in Human Kinetics and Ergonomics, was a fitness trainer and sports scientist with the Border Cricket Board in South Africa since 1998.
