Kapil Dev slams Yuvraj's partying habits

Chandigarh, July 20:: Former India captain Kapil Dev slammed Test discard Yuvraj Singh for attending late night parties instead of focussing on cricket.

"He (Yuvraj) should focus on cricket and work hard ... he must exhibit his talent at a proper place rather than elsewhere," Kapil said at a 'Meet the Press' programme here when asked about Yuvraj's party habit.

Drawing parallels between Yuvraj and his father Yograj Singh, a former Test Cricketer, Kapil said, "If Yuvraj devotes even 50 per cent of the hard work that his father put in, no one can stop him from remaining in the (Test) team."

"He (Yuvraj) is a talented player. But he should spend more time on ground and remain focus to the game," said the country's only World Cup-winning captain.

"He is a young player ... I can understand that a player of his age do have lot of courage," he added.

On BCCI's love for foreign coaches, Kapil said, "I think the board has become smart ... the country has no dearth of good players who can become good coach."

i am not able to understand why r others interested in what yuvraj is doing his free time, i feel his strenghts are in the ODI n T20 which u all have seen during the past few months.. so i say to all including kapil just let him do what he wants to do...

Great to see Kapil offering a bit of advice to Yuvraj - The spineless BCCI as usual refuses to castigate any Indian cricketer because of IPL revenue from Yuvraj - Yuvraj has let India down by partying with Pakistani friends who have indirectly contributed to Yuvraj's pathetic performance - what about Suresh Raina and others who attended the party- all of them faile din the match against LankaI would call for a ban of 5 Tests and ODIs for the players - it is as bad as Harbhajan's silly bahavior - Yuvraj should focus on learning English instead of partying in Karachi

Sorry Kapil, you was and Yuvraj is a player today. Yuvraj is a big boy. It is his time. If Preeti Zinta hugs him and not Kapil ....Kapil should not take it out on Yuvraj.Party on Yuvraj ....drink and party...be happy...do it before you and Preeti get old and wrinkled....it is your money.

It is a pity that having earned name, fame and recognition in game of cricket being in the Team india, yuvraj Singh has become swollen headed having lost his mental balance and right thinking. The fabulous wealth amassed by him in cash and kind both from the cricket tournaments in India and abroad has gone into his head and he has become too big for his boots. The incident in Karachi, Pakistan during the Asia cup tournament could have landed him in serious trouble, endangereing his life and bringing bad name to India. BCCI must punish him suitably for his misbehaviour, setting a correct precedence.
