Ishant, under BCCI's the rotation policy, has been replaced by Munaf Patel but the lanky fast bowler would return to the 15-member side, also announced today, for next month's Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

The teams announced for the two events are otherwise the same except for Parthiv Patel being left out of the squad for Champions Trophy.

No one in the team from below the imaginary dividing line
by Prathap Chithapuram on 2008-08-07 19:39:01.31959+05:30
Looks like only players from above the imaginary dividing line are fit for playing in the Indian ODI team. While selectors were willing to give a very very young batsman a chance, they seem to forget to give deserving batsman a chance to play. What has S.Badrinath done wrong not to be on the Indian team?. Also, if Uthappa can be dropped for lack of form, why wasn't Irfan and Rohit Sharma not dropped. Robin Uthappa never got a settled batting position to bat and how can expect him to succeed. What Sachin done lately in ODIs, if form is the only criteria for selection. He has not played like a superstar player. This is ridiculous. Looks like we are going back to the 60's and 70's when the team used to be loaded with only Mumbai and Western India players.
