Colombo, January 10:: The BCCI has brought the ICC on its knees by getting controversial umpire Steve Bucknor removed from the remainder of the India-Australia Test series, a state run newspaper said on Thursday.

An editorial in the government-run paper Daily News said the incident could have "split the white and black cricket playing nations".

"But finally it is apparent that the ICC came down from their Ivory Towers pocketed their pride and acceded and conceded victory to India by dumping Bucknor and agreeing to appoint a Code of Conduct Commissioner to adjudicate on India's appeal against Harbhajan's ban'," it said.

"The cricket world and sports world in general will heave a sigh of relief, now that the controversies have been sorted out and the Test series between the two warring countries Australia and India would continue."

The Daily News said, in India cricket was a religion and justified the outpouring of support for the Indian cricketers.

"In this whole episode it was the BCCI that emerged victorious by having the ICC on its knees," the daily said crying "Well done BCCI".

"Unfortunately incidents that have no place in sport reared its ugly head during the second Test in Sydney and was blown out of proportion and at one time with both teams trading allegations, it looked as though the series would be called off," it said.

BCCI is a mafia organization

BCCI is a mafia, worst than mafias of Italy and Russia. BCCI acted, whatever it did, due to political implications, as most of its members are politicians. BCCI must be formed with people from sports, technocrats and non-political backgrounds.

BCCI? NO KIDDING!

BCCI would have done NOTHING but the players forced it to act. If Dalmia had been in position, he would have acted with speed to protect the Indian players.
