'Aussies pretty fed up with Harbhajan'

New Delhi, February 27:: Renowned columnist Peter Roebuck on Wednesday deplored Australian opener Matthew Hayden’s 'rude' remarks against Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh and said it was high time the home team improved its behaviour.

“Well, they (comments on Harbhajan) were a bit rude. The young man is a guest in the country and must be treated with hospitality”, Roebuck said.

“I think they are pretty fed up with Harbhajan particularly, and I am not sure why Hayden felt the need to say that publicly”, Roebuck told CNN-IBN.

He felt both sides should concentrate on cricket. “I think both sides should concentrate on cricket, that’s my point”.

national insult
by prakash on 2008-02-28 11:38:09.304095+05:30
If the same was said by an Indian player about ponting or clarke, CA would be all over him baying for blood especially thier crappy 'national' newspaper (toiletpaper) 'the telegraph'. I'm sure pawar, niranjan and the other bloodsuckers of BCCI have thier heads buried under mounds of cash to pay any attention to such national insults.

What Harbhajan is doing is exactly the right thing...that is to ahow the Aussies their faces in the mirror. India and Indians have taken their abuse...now we have a player with some guts. Keep up the good work Bhajji. We all love you.

Hayden's verbal abuse
by ssrinath on 2008-02-28 10:25:47.797147+05:30
Harbhajan should sue Hayden, CA and the broadcaster for defamation and racial slur. The word "little" in his statement "obnoxious little weed" has racial connotations demeaning the relatively smaller structure of Indians or Asians as a whole.

Mr. Peter Roebuck is 100 % right. Both the team should concentrate on cricket. They are playing for their country and not for the individual. This type of things are just like a ever lasting stories. My suggestion is that they should play cricket only.
